History
Tina Turner (born Anna Mae Bullock) grew up in the Nutbush community — though technically the Nutbush she described in her 1973 song is a small farming community outside Memphis in Haywood County. The name has been informally applied to this northeast Memphis area. The Summer Avenue corridor was historically a major commercial spine.
