Search Continues for Missing Memphis Teen

Community Comes Together in Hopes of Finding Skyy Crout

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – This past week, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) made an urgent plea to the community regarding the whereabouts of a missing teenager, Skyy Crout. This 16-year-old girl was reported missing on April 13, 2024, and sadly, she has yet to return home.

Skyy was reported missing after she left her house on Stardust Drive without permission. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a pink shirt and pink pants. The MPD reported that she stands at approximately 5-foot-1 and weighs around 125 pounds, with striking black hair and warm brown eyes, making her easily recognizable.

Vigilance from Citizens Expected

As the days pass with no sign of Skyy, the MPD has reiterated the importance of community involvement. In a statement, they urged anyone who might have information about Skyy’s whereabouts to reach out. You can contact Sgt. Stevens at the MPD Missing Persons Bureau by calling 901-636-4479, or the general MPD hotline at 901-545-2677. Every little tip could help bring this young girl back home.

The Ongoing Investigation

The need to address youth safety has become paramount in Memphis, where reports of missing teenagers have been rising. Skyy’s case has gathered some attention, prompting officials to emphasize the significance of local support, vigilance, and compassion. The community’s role in such situations cannot be understated; often the smallest bits of information can lead to critical breakthroughs in a case.

In other news affecting the city, this holiday season is taking on a sobering tone. With many families starting to gather for festivities, statistics show that instances of domestic violence tend to increase during this time. The city recently faced a couple of alarming incidents related to this issue, indicating it might not be all merry and bright for some.

Weather Update: A Cold Front Moves In

As the search for Skyy continues, the weather in Memphis has taken a chillier turn. On this day, the forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies with high temperatures only reaching about 50°F. As night falls, temperatures are expected to drop to a low of 32°F

Memphians are reminded to stay warm and safe as the frigid weather sets in. With potential freezing conditions, it’s always good practice to check on neighbors, especially the elderly and those living alone.

Community Events This Weekend

This Saturday, the Memphis Grizzlies are hosting their fourth annual “Grizz Shop Local” event at the FedExForum. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., locals can support small businesses while getting in the holiday spirit. It’s the perfect opportunity to pick up unique gifts while supporting the community.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the combined efforts of law enforcement and citizens will bring Skyy back home safely, along with ensuring that everyone has a joyous and safe holiday season!
