Memphis Chef Whips Up Star-Studded Thanksgiving Feast!
Memphis was buzzing with excitement this past Thanksgiving! While many were busy sweating over hot stoves, one local chef found himself cooking for a slew of celebrities. Meet Chef D.Arthur, a culinary maestro known for his mouthwatering dishes, who took on a challenge that turned out to be bigger than expected!
A Star-Studded Gathering
Initially, Chef D.Arthur was contracted by none other than the fabulous Sherri Shepherd, actress and renowned host of the โSherriโ talk show, to prepare a delightful feast for just eight people. However, come Thanksgiving Day, things took a turn when an unexpected total of 25 guests showed up at Sherri’s gathering! During her recap on Mondayโs show, she shared, โI didn’t want to cook. I didn’t want to do it for my mental sanity, so I got a caterer!โ And what a caterer it was!
Cooking Up a Storm
Chef D.Arthur, whose real name is Desmond Robinson, was thrilled at the opportunity to whip up a feast for Sherri and her family. โEverything was taken care of weeks in advance,โ he explained, noting how effective Sherri’s team was at keeping him in the loop about the ever-expanding guest list. They made sure every last detail was covered, ensuring that the food would satisfy all those hungry tummies!
Menu Fit for Stars
So, what did this fabulous feast consist of? Chef D.Arthur, along with his sous chef Jeremy Richardson from Memphis and Chef Anthony Duncan from Houston, dished out a spectacular menu that featured savory turkey wings, tender oxtails, and succulent sea bass and salmon. To round out the meal, they added sides like collard greens, Brussels sprouts, and even individual banana puddings. It sounds divine!
Sherri later exclaimed, “Thankfully, Chef D.Arthur made enough food,” as her guests happily returned for seconds and thirds, filling takeout containers with all the goodies.
A Surprise Shout-Out
But thatโs not all! The big surprise came when Sherri, while recounting her holiday weekend, gave an unexpected two-minute endorsement for Chef D.Arthurโs incredible cooking on her nationally syndicated talk show. In a moment that really topped off the holiday weekend for the talented chef, he shared, โBased on how well it went, we thought she was probably going to talk about [the meal] on Monday, but I didnโt expect what basically turned out to be a 2-minute endorsement.โ What a fabulous way to ring in the festive season!
Upcoming Events
So, whatโs next for Chef D.Arthur? Recently, he hosted a sold-out Friendsgiving event right here in Memphis and has plans for a โFriendsmasโ dinner in Detroit later this month. Heโs also set to kick off the New Year with a special brunch in New York on January 1st. The excitement doesnโt stop thereโmore events are sure to be announced soon!
