Memphis: Man Arrested for Dragging Woman with Moving Truck

Monterrio Beasley, a 31-year-old man, has been arrested and charged with especially aggravated robbery following a violent incident in the Frayser neighborhood of Memphis. Beasley is currently being held in jail with a bond set at $190,000.

The incident that led to his arrest occurred on April 10 around noon in the 3100 block of Mensi Street. Law enforcement officers responded to a report of a robbery after a woman was found lying on the ground with multiple injuries.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that the woman had sustained injuries to her arms, back, and hip. She was subsequently transported to Regional One Hospital for treatment. The woman reported that upon returning home, she discovered Beasley in the act of dumping several televisions and their boxes in her front yard. Concerned about the situation, she attempted to record the activity on her phone, but Beasley allegedly grabbed the phone from her and forcibly pushed her away.

After taking her phone, Beasley is accused of entering a moving truck and fleeing the scene. The woman reportedly attempted to retrieve her phone, which led to a dangerous altercation. In her effort to get her phone back, she was dragged along the street, clinging to the driver’s side door of the truck. Eventually, she fell off the door and collided with the curb, resulting in serious injuries and broken bones.

During the police investigation, officers were able to trace the dumped television boxes back to an address connected to Beasley. Furthermore, latent prints found on one of the TVs were identified as belonging to Beasley. The victim was able to identify Beasley in a six-person photo lineup during the investigative process, solidifying the case against him.

Beasley is set to make a court appearance on Tuesday morning, where further proceedings regarding his charges are expected to take place.
