Memphis Talent Jeremy Beloate Steals the Spotlight on The Voice!
Hey Memphis! We have some fantastic news that is sure to lift your spirits. Our very own Jeremy Beloate is making waves on the national stage as a contestant on The Voice. As a proud member of Team Bublé, Jeremy is not just competing; he’s also shining a spotlight on the rich musical heritage of our beloved city.
Born in Memphis and raised in Bartlett, Jeremy’s journey through the world of music started humbly. He attended Ellendale Elementary and Appling Middle School before making a move to Germantown for high school. Thanks to his supportive family, he had the opportunity to attend Briarcrest Christian School where he joined the One Voice singing group. This was just the beginning of his musical odyssey!
His passion for music led him to perform all around Memphis, from the historical Theatre Memphis to the vibrant Playhouse on the Square. He even showcased his talents at the Mid-South Fair. Imagine his excitement when he discovered that his coach, Michael Bublé, had also once graced the same fair stage years ago—it felt like the perfect Memphis connection!
Growing up, watching The Voice with family, Jeremy dreamed of the day he would get his chance to shine. He previously auditioned without success, but his determination never wavered. This time, he felt ready: “This is the right time,” he said with heartfelt sincerity.
For his audition, Jeremy chose to sing Heartbreak Anniversary by Giveon, a song that resonates with themes of loss and resilience. He put everything into that heartfelt performance, and to his amazement, all four coaches turned their chairs, welcoming him into The Voice family!
Memphis music is legendary, and Jeremy is proudly a part of that ongoing legacy. Inspired by legendary artists like Al Green, B.B. King, and Elvis Presley, Jeremy developed a profound love for our city’s soulful sound. He recalls joining a Motown tribute group in middle school, where he discovered the deep connection that music can foster among people. “There’s something special about Memphis music; it’s soulful and heartfelt,” Jeremy shares.
Unlike any other competition he’s been a part of, Jeremy describes The Voice as a family. He appreciates how contestants support one another and how the show’s team genuinely wants every artist to grow. He’s made lifelong friendships that go beyond the show’s duration.
One standout moment for Jeremy was when Gwen Stefani advised him to embrace his unique style. She emphasized the importance of authenticity in his voice, encouraging him to explore sounds that cross genre boundaries. With role models like Jennifer Hudson and Barbra Streisand, Jeremy feels inspired to break through the traditional confines of music.
Though he’s currently capturing hearts on national TV, Memphis will always be home for Jeremy. He dreams of opening a performing arts school in the city to create a nurturing space for young artists. In the meantime, he plans to remain connected to the local arts community that has supported him.
With big dreams of recording his own music, performing on Broadway, and even venturing into acting, Jeremy is ready to embrace everything the music industry has to offer. He expresses deep gratitude for the Memphis community that has cheered him on every step of the way.
So, what are you waiting for? Jeremy encourages everyone to tune into The Voice, root for our local talent, and share in the excitement. With his heart in Memphis and a voice that truly reflects the city’s soulful spirit, Jeremy Beloate is on the path to sharing his story with the world!
