Memphis Man Arrested After Stealing $59,000 Worth of Gear from Local Businesses

MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE โ€” A Memphis man has landed in hot water after he was arrested for allegedly breaking into two businesses and making off with a staggering 59,000 dollars in merchandise. Can you believe it? The crime spree started early in the morning on October 29, when officers were called to investigate a burglary at Stereo Sounds on Getwell Road.

According to police reports, the would-be thieves had no qualms about breaking into the store. They got in by tearing the security bars off the windows, showing a certain level of boldnessโ€”or perhaps foolishness. Once inside, they quickly swiped an array of valuable items, including radio equipment, car alarms, and high-end audio gear.

But it didn’t stop there! Just a week later, on November 6, officers were once again called to a burglary scene, this time at AOSOM on Democrat Road. The same suspects swooped in and stole multiple items before speeding away in the same vehicle used for the robbery at Stereo Sounds. As if that wasnโ€™t enough, one of the suspects even made a return trip to AOSOM an hour later to grab more loot!

The plot thickened when police tracked down the suspect vehicle on November 14 at a residence on South Orleans Street. Officers attempted to speak with someone at the house but didnโ€™t have any luck finding the individual they needed. As they were towing the vehicle, suspect Dante Parker strolled up and claimed ownership of the car. It didnโ€™t take long for officers to discover that Parker had felony warrants already waiting for him.

When they executed a search warrant on the house, they made even more startling discoveries. A woman was found and detained, but that was just the start. Investigators uncovered four firearms, property believed to be stolen from the burglaries, and even some marijuana in the home. Talk about a treasure trove of trouble!

One of the guns was particularly alarmingโ€”it was identified as stolen and sporting a Glock switch, which can alter it to fire automatically. With Parker being a convicted felon, this only adds layers to his already serious legal troubles.

Now, letโ€™s break down the charges that Parker is facing. Heโ€™s got two counts of Burglary to a Business, as well as charges for Theft of Property amounting to different rangesโ€”one between $1,000 and $2,500, and another between $10,000 and $60,000. On top of that, heโ€™s facing theft charges for a stolen firearm worth less than $2,500, and counts for being a convicted felon in possession of a handgunโ€”four times over! And letโ€™s not forget the charges for possession of a controlled substance, in this case, marijuana, and possession of burglary tools like bolt cutters.

It seems like this man really had no business conducting his operations the way he did, and now he’s facing the music. The Memphis community is certainly hoping that justice will be served in this case. Residents can only shake their heads and wonder what these thieves were thinking.

Stay tuned, Memphis. More updates are surely to come!
