On Friday evening, an event called “Canoes and Cocktails” will take place at Shelby Farms, beginning at 6:15 p.m. This guided paddle experience offers attendees a relaxing evening on the water, with tickets available for $35.

Saturday morning will feature the Children’s Entrepreneur Market, taking place at Lightfoot Farm in Millington at 9 a.m. This family-friendly event is free and designed to showcase young entrepreneurs’ efforts and creativity.

Also scheduled for Saturday is “Bookstock,” the largest annual local authors festival, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ben Hooks Library. This free festival will provide a variety of activities, engaging book lovers and families alike.

Simultaneously, the Overton Square Crawfish Festival will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Madison Avenue. This event features delicious crawfish, live music, a selection of beers, and the work of local artisans. Admission is free for all attendees.

Later in the day, the Old Dominick Distillery will host the Kentucky Derby watch party, offering free admission for those wishing to partake in the festivities surrounding this iconic horse racing event. This “Jockeys & Juleps” event will start at 3 p.m.

Lastly, the GPAC Youth Symphony Program Concert is scheduled for Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Germantown Performing Arts Center, highlighting local youth talent through musical performance.
