Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in Memphis has made a significant appointment, naming Tina Haskins Smith as its senior vice president and chief information officer. Smith is to lead the execution of information technology functions throughout the healthcare system. She will also oversee patient and employee digital transformation initiatives such as the implementation of new medical health record and human capital management systems. Smith formerly served as Seattle Childrenโs Hospitalโs associate vice president and chief applications officer.
Endocrinologist Khine Mon Swe has joined the staff at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare. She will operate out of the 1325 Eastmoreland Ave. location, which is situated on the campus of Methodist University Hospital. Swe brings her board-certification and a doctorate from the University of Medicine 2 in Yangon, Myanmar. She has completed a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism from the University of Wisconsin.
The University of Memphis has named Melinda Carlson as Vice President for Student Affairs. She previously worked as assistant vice president of Auxiliary Services & Operations within the division of Business and Finance at the U of M for close to two years. Carlson has extensive experience in multiple areas of student affairs at various institutions.
Society of Entrepreneurs Inducts New Members
The Society of Entrepreneurs has revealed the selection of five new members, including Chris Brubaker of Progressive Technologies, Fred Grinder, Brett Grinder and Justin Grinder from Grinder, Taber and Grinder Inc., and Stacy McCall of ServiceMaster by Stratos. Their induction into The Society of Entrepreneurs will be officially announced during the organizationโs 32nd Annual Dinner and Awards Banquet.
New Executive Director for UrbanArt Commission
Lakeisha Edwards has been appointed as the new executive director at UrbanArt Commission. She brings with her ten years of experience in child support services and a background in Social Work and Psychology. The UrbanArt Commission, a non profit organisation, works towards enhancing the cultural vibrancy of Memphis through public art.

Dr. Marcus Ford, an orthopedic surgeon with Campbell Clinic, has won the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) Clinical Research Award. The accolade recognizes a distinguished clinical paper in the field of hip and knee arthroplasty. Ford’s multifaceted role not only includes teaching orthopedic residents and fellows, but also consulting for hip and knee projects nationally.
