Memphis Celebrates the Return of the Beloved Budweiser Clydesdales

What a treat for the people of Memphis! On January 8, 2025, the iconic Budweiser Clydesdales trotted back into the city for the first time in over a decade, bringing with them a wave of nostalgia and excitement. Fans of all ages gathered to catch a glimpse of these majestic horses that represent the beloved Anheuser-Busch brand. It seems the wait was definitely worth it, as the Clydesdales made several appearances at different Kroger stores across the area.

A Cold Day, But Warm Hearts

Even though the weather was brisk, an estimated 500 to 600 enthusiastic fans showed up at the event in Arlington. They huddled together, bundled in their winter coats, eager to see the gentle giants. It’s hard to believe it has been 11 long years since the Clydesdales last visited Memphis! Michael Azbill, brand manager of Eagle Distributing Co., hinted that we might have to wait another decade or so to see these magnificent horses again. So, it’s safe to say that this was no ordinary meet-and-greet!

Stops Along the Way

The Clydesdales didn’t stop at Arlington alone; they also made appearances at two other Kroger locations: one at 3685 S. Houston Levee Road in Collierville and the other at 7735 Farmington Blvd in Germantown. The event garnered widespread attention from both die-hard fans and curious shoppers alike. It’s not every day you get to see such an iconic horse breed up close!

Meet the Stars

For those unfamiliar, the Budweiser Clydesdales are a sight to behold. Known for their distinctive appearance, these gentle horses boast a striking bay coat, beautiful black mane and tail, four white stocking feet, and a charming white blaze on their faces. Their blend of strength and grace is what has made them so recognizable and uniquely tied to the Anheuser-Busch brand since 1933.

More Events Ahead

The excitement doesn’t end in Memphis! The Clydesdales are scheduled for additional celebrations in partnership with Folds of Honor, with upcoming events planned in Maryville and Knoxville. How amazing is that? They will even be at the grand opening of the Sunsphere Welcome Center in Knoxville, plus stopping at Maryville’s Foothills Mall and Food City in Deane Hill. It looks like these majestic horses will be busy spreading joy and creating memories for many more folks!

A Tradition of Touring

Touring with the Clydesdales has been a cherished tradition for Anheuser-Busch, bringing a sense of community and togetherness wherever they go. Each appearance is more than just about the horses; it’s about celebrating local traditions, connecting with people, and reminding everyone of the simple pleasures in life. These horses have a unique way of capturing hearts, and their visits are often a highlight of community events.

Join the Fun!

If you missed the opportunity to see the Clydesdales this time around, keep your fingers crossed for their next return! Their charm and grace make for a delightful experience that families will remember for years to come. So, mark your calendars and prepare for a bit of magic in the air when the Clydesdales come back to Memphis in the future!

Until then, let’s embrace the memories made during this much-anticipated visit and keep the spirit alive for when they next come trotting back into town!
