Ohio-Based Construction Company Invites Local Assistance for Major Refurbishment Project of Memphis’ Tallest Tower

Contractors Discussing Memphis Tower Project

100 N. Main Contractor Seeks Assistance on Memphian Project

MEMPHIS โ€“ Ohio-based Cleveland Construction is set to take on the legacy of Memphis’ tallest tower, the 100 N. Main Building. However, the scale of the work required is grand, prompting the main contractor to reach out for local assistance. Cleveland Construction has instigated an outreach event to recruit potential subcontractors for the upcoming mammoth task.

Outreach Event to Pave the Path

On Wednesday, May 22, Cleveland Construction co-hosted an open outreach event at the Springhill Suites Downtown to brief local businesses and draw in potential subcontractors. This move of reaching out to locals comes as the volume of work requires a diverse pool of contractors rather than relying on a single entity.

Shawn Zbasnik, director of marketing of Cleveland Construction, stated that the scope of work would need multiple contractors to each take on different aspects of the core and shell of the 600 feet intimidating structure. The varied requirements of the project mean it will benefit greatly from a wider, more comprehensive workforce.

Looking Forward Towards a Collaborative Effort

By hosting the outreach event, Cleveland Construction positioned itself to welcome local talent’s contribution to this colossal project. The company is seeking contractors with specialization in myriad areas such as mechanical, plumbing, electrical, drywall, and metal panel installation. The project aims to bring life back to the former office building, which has been vacant for many years, and turn it into a mixed-use hub incorporating a unique blend of residential, office, and hospitality spaces.

The Historical 100 N. Main Building

Established in 1965 and towering with 37 stories, the 100 N. Main Building has held its position as the tallest building in Memphis for over five decades. However, it has been vacant since it failed a fire safety inspection in 2014. The ambitious refurbishment project is set to infuse a new lease of life to this Memphis landmark.

More long-term benefits of the project include stimulating local economic growth and revitalizing Memphis’ Downtown district by adding a prestigious and vibrant venue to the area. The refreshed and re-imagined building is anticipated to become an indispensable part of Memphis’ cityscape and a proud testament to community collaboration.

Boosting Local Economy

As the massive project commences, it is expected to bring in substantial work opportunities to the local contractors and workers, thus contributing significantly to the local economy. Not only does the project promise a resurgence for the Main Building and its surrounding area; it also ensures a cascade of benefits to Memphis’ locals and their businesses.

The historic 100 N. Main Building project will soon become an amalgamation of different talents and expertise. With the active participation of locals, it promises not just a physical transformation, but also a revival representative of the spirit and tenacity of Memphis itself.
