FedEx Employees Contribute to Global Good with Care Package Assembly
MEMPHIS, Tenn. โ A large group of spirited volunteers donned their FedEx uniforms with the aim to make a significant difference, not just for their city, but for the world. On Wednesday, employees from FedEx convened in Memphis to participate in the annual FedEx Cares packing event. Their mission: To assemble care packages for distribution to diverse nonprofit organizations internationally.
Fostering a Worldwide Culture of Giving
The FedEx Cares Initiative has always been the epitome of the companyโs commitment to serve โ a commitment that extends beyond its business and into the communities it serves. At the heart of this event was the endeavor to promote welfare and bring direct aid to the organizations that rely on their support.
FedEx employees worked diligently, packaging essentials that will be forwarded to organizations such as Blessings in a Backpack and Heart to Heart International. By teaming up with these entities, FedEx aims to lend a hand to those in need and work towards creating a better world.
Embracing Collaboration for Global Impact
A FedEx spokesperson gave emphasis to this event as being one of unity and shared effort. She expressed that the collaboration this event promotes allows the company to better serve communities worldwide.
“We are helping hundreds,” declared Ann-Marie McIntosh, vice president of FedEx Global Brand. “We have 550 people here today, all doing numerous kits, both locally and for communities around the world. And this is certainly not an isolated event. FedEx Cares regularly conducts and supports similar community initiatives.”
Local Schools Also Benefit
Some of the care kits will be delivered to local schools, Treadwell and Grahamwood, reinforcing the companyโs engagement with the local community. They are working towards uplifting their immediate community as well as contributing to international welfare groups.
Beyond business, it is clear that FedEx employees are acting as agents of change, embodying the ethos of their employer and contributing to noble causes. Demonstrating yet again that businesses can and do play an essential role in fostering a culture of giving and community support, both at a local and global level.
