Memphis is officially kicking off its much-anticipated Art & Fashion Week, a vibrant event celebrating creativity and style. The event, hosted by the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, aims to showcase the unique blend of fashion and art that the city has to offer.

Previously known as Memphis Fashion Week, this yearโ€™s Art & Fashion Week is directed by fashion educator Ramona Sonin and powered by the Couture Collective. The event features a dynamic lineup of events designed to highlight Memphis’ diverse styles, including vintage finds, streetwear, and designer pieces. Throughout the week, attendees can participate in numerous experiences that foster a sense of community and creativity.

Attendees are encouraged to join the museumโ€™s Couture Collective fashion membership by May 5, which includes benefits such as free drinks at all official events. The first event, “Blue Suede Vintage After Hours,” is scheduled for May 2 from 5-7 PM. Participants can shop locally curated vintage outfits at 486 N Hollywood St.

Another highlight of the week is the “Met Gala Watch Party,” happening on May 5 from 6-8 PM. This themed event will include specialty cocktails and encourages guests to dress in their finest attire. Culinary enthusiasts will enjoy “Culinary Couture” on May 7 from 6-8 PM, featuring a multi-course dinner prepared by renowned chef Karen Carrier.

On May 8, attendees can participate in a discussion with Korto Momolu, an international fashion designer and alum of Project Runway, who will speak about her inspiring artistic journey from 6-8 PM. This will lead into the highly anticipated runway show on May 9, which will showcase over 50 designers from 6:30-7:30 PM. Following the runway show, guests are invited to attend the Summer Art Garden After Party to mingle with the designers.

On May 10, the week continues with “Cocktails with the Curator: Black Dandyism,” an event that explores the intersection of fashion, identity, and resistance, taking place from 8-10 PM. Each ticket for the runway show includes a complimentary welcome drink, access to the after-party, and opportunities for exclusive photographs. For those seeking a premium experience, VIP tickets are available, offering priority seating, exclusive snacks, and bottomless champagne.

The week is presented in collaboration with the University of Memphis Fashion Program and is supported by numerous sponsors, including Titoโ€™s Handmade Vodka and The McKinney Family Foundation. The overarching goal of Memphis Art & Fashion Week is to inspire and cultivate creativity within the Memphis community through a series of high-style events.

This yearโ€™s Memphis Art & Fashion Week presents an exciting opportunity for both local residents and visitors to engage with the vibrant fashion and art scene and celebrate the unique culture that Memphis embodies.
