MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Grizzlies put the last perfect record in the NBA on the line Monday night when the New Orleans Pelicans come to town, with a seventh straight win to open the season there for the taking.

Memphis sits at 6-0 and first in the Western Conference. That start already equals the 2014-15 team for the best opening run in franchise history, so one more victory would set a new club mark.

The Grizzlies got to six by routing Sacramento 136-105 on Saturday night. Rookie Cameron Boozer, the third overall pick in the summer draft, scored 27 points with nine rebounds, and Isaiah Stewart added 24. GG Jackson made all five of his 3-point tries on his way to 21, and Memphis stretched its lead to 34 in the second half after a 42-25 third quarter.

Cam Spencer ran the offense in that game with 10 points and 13 assists while two regular guards sat. Both are listed out again for Monday: Scotty Pippen Jr. and Ty Jerome have back problems. Center Quinten Post is also out with an ankle injury.

New Orleans arrives at 2-4, 11th in the West. The Pelicans will be shorthanded too, with Dejounte Murray out for personal reasons, Yves Missi sidelined by a knee injury and Jordan Poole out with an ankle problem.

The hot start is a sharp turn from a season ago. Memphis went 25-57 in 2025-26 and won only 14 of its 41 home games. New Orleans finished 26-56 and went 9-32 away from home.

Houston was the other team still without a loss until a 116-111 defeat at Dallas on Friday, leaving Memphis alone at the top of the league standings.
