MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Ty Jerome’s hot start to the season has earned the Memphis Grizzlies guard his first NBA Western Conference Player of the Week award.

The honor covers the opening stretch of the 2026-27 season, when Jerome carried Memphis to a 3-0 record, the franchise’s first 3-0 start since 2017.

He opened with a career-best 45 points against Utah, then poured in 28 at Golden State and 31 more in a road win at Sacramento. In each of those games he put up at least 20 points after halftime.

Through three games, Jerome topped the league at 34.7 points a night. He made 56.4 percent of his shots overall and 42.9 percent from beyond the arc.

The scoring tear cooled Monday night in Salt Lake City, where Jerome hit only four of 15 shots and finished with 15 points against the Jazz. He still handed out eight assists, and Memphis won 110-105 behind 16 points and 11 rebounds from Cedric Coward to stay unbeaten.

That balance is part of why the Grizzlies have opened so well. Jaylen Wells added 14 points against Utah, and Cameron Boozer and Jerami Grant each chipped in 13, giving Memphis other scoring options on a night when its top gun was off.

Monday’s game also brought a familiar face back into view. Former Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr., who went to Utah in a trade with Memphis, left early with a right knee injury after scoring six points, and Jazz star Lauri Markkanen exited in the first quarter with a hurt right wrist. Both were set for MRI exams on Tuesday.

Jerome will try to find his touch again as the Grizzlies keep their early-season run going.
